At Westhill Park the relationship between our residents and the team is that of a family. You cannot work in such an environment without forming emotional attachments, it’s human nature after all. Our team love nothing more than spending time with our residents and learning all about each other. We have more in common than you’d think.
We are always a little sad when the time comes to say goodbye to a member of our team, and it is often an emotional day. We all felt this way when it came to Caine’s last day, he has been such an integral part of Westhill Park and we were all sad to see him go.
Caine’s last day came and with it came a wonderful surprise for our residents. Caine arrived at work bearing gifts, a lot of gifts, one for each resident. Everyone was delighted and blown away by his generosity and thoughtfulness.
Caine spent the day chatting to each resident, they laughed as they chatted about their time together and the lovely memories that they would cherish.
Caine’s wonderful gesture demonstrates the many ways in which our team go over and above to provide a caring and loving environment. They really do give 100% when it comes to the well-being of our residents.
Speaking to the residents afterwards, they had nothing but praise and kind words to say, one resident told us “I wish him all the best for the future, it was kind of him to go out of his way to get us all a little something to keep.” Another said “I wish him all the luck for his next adventure, I have enjoyed our time together.”
Good luck in your new adventures Caine, come back and see us soon.
