The third Monday in January has earned itself the title of “Blue Monday”, this is due to many factors, Christmas is over, taking with it its sparkle and tinsel. The weather is decidedly grey and chilly and for many, payday seems to be a long time coming. The truth is that the term “Blue Monday” was created as a marketing strategy by a tour operator, but I think that there is a little truth in the idea that January can be a long cold month without much to look forward to.
This, however, is not the case at Marham House. There is no sign of “Blue Monday” here or any other blue days for that matter. We have a schedule packed to the brim of things to look forward to and the fact that we don’t have to leave the building to visit the hairdressers, the tearoom, the cinema, or the pub means that we really aren’t affected by the weather either.
This week, taking inspiration from the “Blue Monday” tag we have enjoyed many blue themed activities, one of which was the “Beat the blues bash”. The lounge was decorated beautifully with streamers and balloons, we drank blue cocktails and were entertained by the wonderful duo “Something Else”. They were fabulous.
This week has been fabulous, fun, joyous, full or laughter and singing and dancing, this week has been anything but blue.
