At Hazel End we hold a regular resident’s club, it offers residents a chance to get together and get to know each other a little better. Each week we share stories about our life histories and swap anecdotes, and we often find points in our lives where our paths may have crossed.
Friendships are formed for many different reasons, sometimes it’s through work or our children, some of us are lucky enough to have friends from childhood. Friendships grow from shared experience, it’s very easy to strike up a conversation and find a connection with someone who has lived a similar life or shares a particular passion, a kindred spirit.
Hazel End is the perfect place to meet new friends, it’s a little like school, it can feel a bit overwhelming, being the new girl or boy but this feeling is fleeting and disappears when you find yourself surrounded by like minded people all of whom have a hundred stories to share with you.
Resident’s club is a fabulous resource for those who find it more difficult to strike up a conversation, each person takes a turn to share, and the stories are, as you would expect, fascinating. This week Ernie shared some of his experiences with us, it was lovely to see his face light up as he spoke about the things that matter most to him.
I have forged some real connections since moving here, we take part in so many fabulous activities and events and it is wonderful to have such good friends to share these experiences with.
