This week we were delighted to have an impromptu entertainer in the shape of Louisa and her guitar.
Louisa has only recently joined the team her at Westhill and she has fitted in perfectly. We knew instantly that she was warm and caring but we fell for her that little bit more when she produced a guitar and proceeded to play some of our favourite tunes.
There is nothing like music to stir up emotions, a song can transport you to a time or place and conjure up feelings of happiness, sadness, and gratitude to name but a few. A dreary grey day can be turned transformed by a good old fashioned sing song.
The lounge at Westhill is currently full of festive cheer, the tree is dressed, the decorations are up, and the mince pies are plentiful. This was the perfect setting for a Christmas singalong.
I always wished that I had learned to play an instrument, I just never seemed to have the time, but I was always a little envious of anyone who could play. Maybe that’ll be my New Year’s resolution.
We had a wonderful afternoon singing our hearts out, we called out requests and Louisa was happy to give them all a go.
We were quite disappointed when teatime arrived, and we had to stop but luckily for us Louisa has promised to bring that guitar in regularly and I for one cannot wait until the next time.
