Goodbye 2021, you have been both a challenge and a joy and certainly never dull. We didn’t want 2021 to just slip away in the night, unmarked, a year like 2021 needed a big send off and we think we did it proud.
We started the year with a sense of optimism, it didn’t seem possible that it wouldn’t be an improvement on the previous year. Our optimism was shaken somewhat by the virus in January and February, but we were kept safe and well and we were well entertained, we even learned new skills utilising technology to keep in touch with our friends and our families. By Easter, the country was in a much better place, and we made the most of every day.
New Year’s Eve arrived, and we were ready for it. We had a wonderful party with music and delicious food, we were joined outside by our neighbours, our friends and our families and we were treated to a fabulous firework display. We sipped our hot chocolate and stared up into the night sky occasionally looking down to catch a glimpse of the faces of those we love, illuminated by the colours dancing above our heads, it was extremely moving.
I think we are all entering 2022 with a little trepidation, it’s hard not to be a little cautious with the optimism but whatever it brings, we hope that it finds you happy, that it brings joy for you and all you love
