On the 20th of July 1969 while most people were enjoying a well-earned day of rest, Neil Armstrong was landing on the moon. Tuesday 20th saw the anniversary of that memorable day and we therefore concluded that we could not let it pass without celebrating this great achievement, which incidentally is often referred to as Moon Day, in style.
At Marham House we never ever pass up the chance to have a party. Residents danced the night away to the sounds of the superb Mickey Fordola who delighted everyone with classic Swing and Rat Pack songs including, of course, the obligatory Frank Sinatra classic, Fly Me to The Moon.
Residents were able to keep cool with a glass of fruity Pimm’s and an array of soft drinks and of course there were nibbles. Residents really enjoyed sharing their stories about where they were and what they were doing on that magical day and our team were enthralled by their tales.
After sharing a video of the day on our Facebook page, a family member commented “My Mum loves to dance and I just saw her in this wonderful video. It has made me tear up as she has been through so much and Marham House has worked its magic on her. Thank You so much.”
It certainly was a magical evening!
