At Priors Hall we recently celebrated Burns Night. A significant percentage of Corby residents are of Scottish descent and Scottish traditions are important to us.
We are extremely lucky to have a Highland Dance school close by and last week the pupils paid us a visit to perform a routine especially for Burns Night.
We made our way to the dining room and the tables were cleared to provide ample space for the performance. We were supplied with a lovely selection of treats and the whiskey was opened for those who wanted to partake of a little Scottish spirit.
The performance was spectacular. The music was wonderful and the dancers so talented. It was hard to resist getting up and joining in, it looked like so much fun. You could clearly see the hours of practice that had gone into the routine, and it was lovely to see how much they were enjoying themselves; their smiles were infectious. They should be immensely proud of themselves, they were exceptional.
Priors Hall has only been open since December 2021 and we are all new to this way of living. It is a big decision to make and there are always doubts that creep in, but I have to say that life here is wonderful. The home is beautiful and kept spotlessly clean, the care team are so friendly and helpful and there is always something to do, we’ve been creative, we’ve been active, we’ve baked, we’ve been pampered and kept thoroughly entertained.
We have celebrated Christmas, New Year, Burns Night, Chinese New Year and next week will be having a Valentine’s celebration lunch and to think that I was worried that I’d be bored.
