If you ever wondered what goes on in the evenings in a care home
Have you ever wondered what evenings at a Halcyon care home are like? Then wonder no more. At Priors we spend our evenings in a multitude of ways. If we have had a particularly busy day, we enjoy a quiet evening in front of the television with a comforting drink of hot chocolate and a couple of biscuits or a slice of cake; we also enjoy an evening in the bar, watching the sunset from our vantage point at the top of the home, gin and tonic in hand surrounded by great company.
This week we enjoyed a pyjama party, even the team were dressed in pyjamas. We were treated to a trolley full of goodies, cakes, pastries, and hot chocolate topped with cream and marshmallows. We played games and had a singalong, I felt like a teenager again, all that was missing was the pillow fight.
I have made so many friends since moving to Priors Hall, I have always been content with my own company, I suppose I’d just got used to it but being here has given me a new lease of life.
It takes a while to adjust to living in a new home and I was concerned initially but it has not taken long to get used to not having to cook or clean or wash or iron, all of my time is my own and I can spend it in any way that I like and I’ll happily take sitting in the garden with a glass of wine surrounded by friends over doing the ironing in front of the television any time.
