At Halcyon our tagline is “It’s a lifestyle choice” but this is not just a tagline, it’s a philosophy.
Our senior management team have many years of experience working on the care home floor, we have seen the good and the not so good, we have seen first-hand the type of care that allows people to flourish and enjoy life and we have many hours of research behind us. So, what have we learned?
The level of care is important, the optimum team to resident ratio is paramount and the cleanliness of the home and the standard of the menu is obvious however what you often do not hear about is the lifestyle. What happens once you are up and dressed, once you’ve enjoyed your breakfast and your bed has been made?
Well at Priors Hall there is much to do. We understand that the way in which you fill your days is what life is all about, we appreciate that the people who choose to live with us are individuals and that for every person who is content to sit in the library and lose themselves in a good book there is a person who needs to be busy, who wants to be challenged, who craves social interaction. Some people are more than happy to have others shop for them or run errands others are fiercely independent and want to do these things for themselves.
We are delighted to introduce you to Claire who is our new lifestyle manager at Priors Hall. Claire has a wealth of experience in activities and well-being and is excited to start getting to know our residents. Claire’s approach is to tailor hobbies and events around the resident’s requests and needs. Claire loves to bring out the best in everybody. There will be music, poetry, outings and all forms of arts and crafts and that’s just for starters.
The way in which we spend our days is the way in which we grow as people, the way we form relationships, a means to learning and to experiencing joy. It’s through activities and interactions, through forming new connections with the community and nurturing friendships that memories are made, and we are confident that Claire is the person to make this happen.
