We have been getting very festive here, there is not a corner that is not decorated or a speaker that does not have a Christmas tune emanating from it. We have eaten more mince pies than we care to admit, and the Christmas Sherry may need replacing.
This week we were treated to a Christmas quiz by our resident quiz master Russell. Russell spends his days as a mild-mannered maintenance officer but when duty calls, he transmogrifies into the host with the most.
The quiz was a lot of fun, there were some serious questions interspersed with some riddles and light-hearted trivia. We all enjoy a quiz, it gives us a chance to use the brain cells, give them a bit of a workout.
The time flew by and before we knew it, we were enjoying a Christmas singalong and yet more mince pies. It was a fun filled joyous afternoon, it reminded me of Christmases from years back when the family would gather for games and songs, whole families crowded into a lounge, generations of family members surrounded by paper chains and wrapping paper.
We missed out on so much last year, but we are certainly making up for it now. We are not wasting a single day. Now I must go, I’ve heard a rumour that they have opened a bottle of Baileys and I never say no to a Baileys, well it is Christmas.
