“Rutland Water is one of the largest man-made reservoirs in Europe, and is set in the centre of Rutland, the smallest county in England. It comprises 3,100 acres of countryside, with a 25-mile circular track for walking and cycling. At the northern end of the reservoir there is a nature reserve with a large number of bird hides. It is also the home of the British Bird Watching Fair each August.”
The paragraph above describes perfectly what a wonderful place Rutland Water is to visit.
We are lucky to live close enough to be able to pop along and enjoy the beautiful scenery and amenities on offer.
Last week a group of us popped along to enjoy the sunshine, it was a wonderful day. We took a leisurely stroll around the lake and then stopped for a well-earned sit down and an ice cream. We had a lovely time reminiscing about previous trips to Rutland and shared our precious memories with each other. it really was the perfect day.
